Some spaces touch me on an emotional level. An empty school yard, a beach before the crowds arrive, or a bench on a hill. More than the potential for what will come, I can’t help but think on what happened there mere hours, days or even years before.
We often take public spaces for granted yet they can trigger memories of significant moments in our lives. Someone choose to place that bench in that spot and children sat there waiting their turn to play, or wishing they could join the game. In quieter hours hard choices were made, relationships began, or ended. I want these images to bring recall those emotions, an escape perhaps from the now.
